Mississippi Power holds pre-storm hurricane meeting

As Hurricane Preparedness Week is underway, Mississippi Power held their pre-storm hurricane meeting today.

The company came together to discuss storm plans and prepare for potential power outages. Storm and EMA directors were able to get familiar with one another and share ideas on the best way to prepare for this season.

Coast Division Distribution Manager for Mississippi Power Stephen Schruff tells News 25 communication is key when dealing with storms.  “We understand in advance what they need from us. It all comes through communication. So, when it hits, things are moving quickly, you don’t want to waste a lot of time. So, knowing each other and having plans in place, we can communicate more effectively during the storm.”

When it comes to potential power outages this storm season, patience will be the key for customers.
