Mississippi Power helping with Hurricane Florence
Mississippi Power is on the way to assisting with relief efforts in the Carolinas.
Ninety workers are on the road in preparation of Hurricane Florence. They’re staying in Georgia tonight, making sure their workers are staying safe. After the hurricane passes, they’ll be ready to help assist in the impacted areas.
Mississippi Power tells News 25 we’ve had so many hurricanes on the Gulf Coast that they want to be able to give back to those who have helped us through them as well. Mississippi Power employee Brent Ladner said, “Having power is very important. Here on the Coast, we went through Hurricane Katrina, so a lot of us know what it’s like to be without power for a while and it’s very important to go help other utility companies so if we have a major storm like that again they will be willing to come help us. It feels good to be able to give a helping hand.”
Florence is expected to impact the Carolinas for several days.
