Mississippi Power Asks for Interim Rate Increase

Just days after the Mississippi Public Service Commission voted unanimously to stop Mississippi Power from increasing customer rates, the company is now asking for an interim rate increase.
The company is asking for a replacement of the 18 percent rate increase the commission replaced earlier this week. President and CEO Ed Holland says “This filing will not affect the Kemper related refunds customers are expected to receive, and will not increase customer rates from their current level.”
If approved, the interim rates would be effective with the first billing cycle of August, which begins July 20, 2015.
