Mississippi Mud Fest

Get your ATVs, Jeeps, and suped-up lawn mowers ready because Mississippi Mud Fest is in full throttle in Perkinston this weekend.
Who says mud riding isn’t for girls? Shauna Moore is getting ready to go full speed ahead at this weekend’s Mississippi Mud Fest, something she does every year. “I try to come out here as much as possible. I mean, I quite honestly just love Red Creek. I love the atmosphere, I love the people here and it’s pretty amazing every time I come.”
This is the Red Creek Off Road Park’s 11th annual Mississippi Mud Fest and thousands of off road enthusiasts will blaze their own trails all weekend long. “My favorite thing to do, probably, is water wheelies when it comes to ATVs however, I like riding in Jeeps. I like riding in anything that pretty much goes through the mud,” said Moore.
Mud Fest Promoter Brandon Necaise said, “Throughout the concerts, we’re going to have fire throwers, Brandon Mallett and Spogga Hash, doing some crazy, dangerous stuff. It’s going to be interesting. I’m actually really excited about it. I haven’t seen it yet.”
It is $40 for the whole weekend to enjoy this muddy wonderland and all the fun Red Creek Off Road Park has to offer. “If you have a tent, bring it out,” said Necaise, “We’re not charging for permanent camping this weekend. Bring your tent, bring the grill, bring your family and ride the 2600 acres and 14 miles of creek that we have.”
Mud Fest wraps up Sunday night at the off road park location off Highway 15 in Perkinston.
