Mississippi Lottery Corp. makes first transfer
Our state is already parlaying money from lottery tickets sales. Scratch-off tickets went on sale here in Mississippi back on November 25th of last year.
The first day of scratch-off ticket sales alone reeled in more than $2 million for the state, money that will be allocated to help fund education and infrastructure projects throughout Mississippi.
Sales through the first eight weeks, ending January 18th 2020, have exceeded more than $80.7 million.
Players have claimed more than $44 million in prizes so far and more cash prizes will be up for grabs once Powerball and Mega Millions lottery tickets go on sale.
Less than two weeks ago, the Mississippi Lottery Corporation made its first transfer of more than $7,600,000 in net proceeds to the lottery proceeds fund in the Mississippi State Treasury.
