Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic
Preparations are in the works for the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic set to tee off next month at Fallen Oak Gulf Club in Saucier.
It’s the seventh year South Mississippi has played host to this Champions Tour, showcasing golfers age 50 and older. There are a lot of ways for the community to get involved. The tournament operates mainly off of volunteers and they’re currently accepting applications. Also, philanthropy will continue on the golf course with their Birdies for Charity program where participating charities receive every single penny of donations. Participants just have to make a three cent or more per birdie pledge.
Tournament director Steve Nieman said, “It’s always such a great experience for everybody in the community and the people who come to the Coast for the tournament because we get to kind of show off for a week. We have the backdrop here for the Coast and all the great assets that we have and we expose not only the players but all the visitors that come to our wonderful casino partners and the great golf courses that are here.”
