Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic consortium sponsors hit the links
Whether you’re playing with high-profile college football coaches or the guys on tour, these pro-ams offer a unique experience for all parties involved.
Especially for the consortium sponsors that had such a big hand in putting on the eighth annual event, as well as the seven that came before it.
One example is Mississippi Hancock Bank President Keith Williams, who hasn’t missed a tournament since the inaugural event in 2010. “We’re one of the consortium sponsors and with Hancock Bank supporting it each year, we think it’s the right thing to do. While we’re not out here opening up accounts or doing loans, an event like this makes us a better place for people to come. And when businesses do better, Hancock Bank does better and the community does better so that’s what we look for. And when you have the top Champions Tour golfers coming back here, it’s a great event for this area. It brings people in from all over and the local folks come out and enjoy it, too. So that helps the tournament grow. It’s just been a tremendous tournament with some great finishes over the years.”
Speaking of great finishes, Miguel Angel Jimenez won the tournament last year by just two strokes over Scott Dunlap.
