Mississippi Gulf Coast Mayor’s Meeting

Several mayors from across the Gulf Coast met at the Shell Landing Golf Club in Gautier today for the first Gulf Coast Mayor’s Meeting of 2018.

Among some of the topics discussed were BP oil spill settlement funds among the Coast and the rest of the state as well as evolving the Coast with more tourist attractions.

Gautier Mayor Phil Torjusen tells News 25 why it was important to discuss BP settlement funds during today’s meeting. “All we are trying to do is get proper accountability for the things that occur here in the state and the proper accountability would be where damages were done associated with the BP damages.”

Among those in attendance at today’s meeting was Visit Mississippi Gulf Coast CEO Milton Segarra who spoke on the future attractions that could impact tourism here on the Coast.
