Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum annual Christmas light display

Along with many other festive activities on the Coast this holiday season, the Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum is helping light up South Mississippi with its annual Christmas light display.

Wander through the giant light displays behind the museum where you’ll see larger than life scenes featuring some of Christmas’ most famous characters like elves, Santa Claus, and Jack Skeleton.

You can also hitch a ride on the museum’s train and take in the nearly one million lights, over two million legos, and 80 model trains and displays from the comfort of a locomotive.

No matter your age, the model railroad’s light display has something for everyone to enjoy. Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Club Member John Gray said, “We have all of the displays that you can see and look at, ranging from the smallest as Z all the way up to G scale. And then we have our seven-and-a-half riding train. And also, our kids steams, which are hand-cranked– pedal. And we also have some for smaller kids we have some Thomas electric riding trains for them that they can ride on.”

The Christmas light display is turned on from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. during the month of December. Recommended donation is $5 for adults and $2 for children.
