Mississippi Coast Coliseum serving as COVID-19 vaccination site

The Coast Coliseum is stepping up to help in the fight against COVID, providing a new venue for vaccinations.

Today marked day one as the Biloxi facility serving as a vaccination site for Harrison County residents pre-registered with the Mississippi Department of Health to receive their COVID vaccinations.

A joint effort among the Coast Coliseum Commission, Mississippi State Department of Health, and the Harrison County Board of Supervisors, the site was packed when it opened this morning, but by mid-day things continued to flow smoothly. Harrison County Board of Supervisors President Beverly Martin said, “They need to go online and get an appointment with the Mississippi Department of Health. Right now, this is only for people who already had appointments, but as the vaccines become more available, I’m hoping those appointments will be more and more and more and more. The sooner we can get people vaccinated, the sooner we can get back to our normal lives.”

Be sure that you have your vaccination appointment lined up before arriving at the Coast Coliseum and enter at gate three, located off Beauvoir.
