Mississippi Bowl: Previewing No. 3 East Mississippi vs. No 13 Kilgore

The ninth annual Mississippi Bowl will have a different look this year. Instead of Biloxi High School being the host site, the newly renovated AL May Memorial Stadium at MGCCC will be the venue.
Rolling into town earlier today were the two teams playing in that game: third ranked East Mississippi, AKA Last Chance U, and Number 13 Kilgore College out of Texas.
To preview Sunday’s game between a pair of programs with a combined five national championships was a press conference featuring head coaches Buddy Stephens and J.J. Eckert.
East Mississippi Head Football Coach Buddy Stephens said, “A chance to represent the state of Mississippi, that’s huge for us. Like I said, I told the guys we’re lining up with a team that has a star on the side of their helmet and that represents the state of Texas and we have to take on that challenge.”
Kilgore Head Football Coach J.J. Eckert said, “In Texas we went through a bunch of different bowl games, but seeing what this bowl game has been able to create and obviously has had four national championship games played in it. I think, Coach you’re playing in it for the fourth time. That to me is amazing.”
Sunday’s game will kick off at 2 p.m. from Perkinston. The guest speaker for tonight’s event was Arkansas Head Football Coach Bret Bielema.
