Mississippi Association of Supervisors Convention

Supervisors from across Mississippi have descended on the Gulf Coast for the annual Mississippi Association of Supervisors Convention.

The convention got underway Monday at the Coast Coliseum and Supervisors from 82 counties in Mississippi are taking classes and discussing a wide range of topics.

All things covered during the week have the purpose of helping supervisors better serve their counties.

Angel Kibler-Middleton, a member of the Harrison County Board of Supervisors, tells News 25 she attends the convention each year and it is a time for them to learn how to make their county run more efficiently. “We have classes on the opioid crisis. We have classes on insurance, safety issues with county equipment, anything that you can possibly think of. Anything that we deal with on a daily basis, infrastructure roads, we learn more about here and we learn by getting together and seeing how other counties deal with the same problems successfully and we learn from their mistakes.”

The convention runs through Thursday. This is the 89^th year that the convention has been held.
