Mississippi Aquarium lights up sails for Carnival Season

The Mississippi Aquarium joined in on the Carnival festivities with the annual lighting of the sails.

This is the third year in a row where the aquarium invited guests along the Coast to watch as the sails lights are switched to the classic purple, green, and gold.

Gulf Coast Carnival Association’s Captain Keith Wade, Lt. David Harris, and Queen Madison Warren all showed up to help light the sails.

The queen says she enjoys spreading the carnival joy to not only those from the Coast, but to those visiting for the parades. “It’s really fun to see everyone’s fascination with it, and it’s just so much fun. It picks up that depression after Christmas is over and what else is there to look forward to… well Mardi Gras, so I’m so glad we have this.”

You’ll be able to see the sails lit up along Highway 90 all Carnival season long.
