Mississippi Aquarium hosting Otter Trotter 5K on Thanksgiving Day

The Mississippi Aquarium is hosting their first family fun Otter Trotter 5K Run.

The race begins at 8:15 Thanksgiving morning. Racers are asked to wear their masks before the race and after they cross the finish line.

They have reached their goal of 100 online registrations. Registration is currently closed. Any registered runners are asked to pick up their bibs by today or tomorrow at 7 a.m. before the race starts.

The aquarium is open Thanksgiving Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They are asking you to join them for their new Thanksgiving tradition.  Digital and Media Marketing Manager Collin Caranna said, “We want the community to come out and have a good time with their family, create a new tradition with us at the aquarium, it’s been a very challenging year for everybody. I know a lot of races have been canceled this year. This is our way of giving back to our community, also being open on Thanksgiving Day you know you can start your day at the aquarium starting at 10 a.m. We will be open and then you know also go home and still enjoy your time with your family.”

Be prepared for weather. The 5K race will go on rain or shine.
