The Mission Works To Rebuild
There’s still a lot of work to do and the men who live there haven’t wasted any time. They wore what clothes they do have as they began cleaning up and salvaging what they could from yesterday’s disaster. The rescue mission’s assistant director says the community has really stepped up, pouring in with donations all day. They’ll all be put to good use as the men work toward rebuilding the thrift store, dormitory and other parts of the mission destroyed by the flames. The mission also plans to continue their services to provide food and other necessities for those in our community who are in need. Sean Smith tells News 25, “We’re going to rebuild and we’re going to come back. It’s not a matter of when it’s just we’re going to do it. I don’t know. I don’t know what’s next. But we’re going to be here for it.” The rescue mission is in need of food, men’s clothing and monetary donations. You can drop off donations at the site located on mission lane right off Debuys Road in Biloxi.
