Missing Man Found in Lake
Officials discovered the body of Brody Brown in a small lake at Muddy Joe’s RV Park in the Kiln after he went missing Saturday night.
Hancock County Chief Deputy Don Bass tells News 25 authorities found the Stone County man’s body in Tranquility Lake this morning around 10 a.m. Family, friends and loved ones came together and mourned the death of their dear friend, who left his group at a concert to use the restroom and never returned.
Authorities do not believe any foul play is involved but for now his family is just happy to have some closure. “I think the family is very grateful to have some kind of closure. We’re no longer searching for BJ and that is some comfort. However, I think we’re looking forward to the results of an autopsy that will finally close the book on exactly how he did die,” said Rebecca Ladnier, wife of Brown’s first cousin. Brody Brown’s aunt Krista St. Romain said, “The love that’s came from the community just speaks to how wonderful of a father, a husband, a son, a cousin, a nephew. Co-workers came as far as Texas and you don’t hear of that every day.”
Family members have expressed their gratitude for the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, other agencies and volunteers who assisted in bringing a peace of mind to Brown’s loved ones.
