UPDATED: Missing Harrison County Teen Found Safe
The Biloxi teen reported missing this morning in Harrison County has been found safe in Pass Christian. According to Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson, Sixteen-year-old J.R. Foster runs every morning at 6 a.m. on Stephen Earl Drive, but today he did not return. Sheriff Peterson tells News 25 Foster was found on Davis Avenue in Pass Christian and deputies are now questioning him to find out why he ran away.
Earlier today deputies looked at the possibility of abduction, but it was discovered Foster left his home on a bicycle and took some personal items with him including two separate back packs. Foster turned off his cell phone which was last used on Friday.
Family members tell News 25 the Biloxi High student is active in sports and focuses on his academics. Kevin Malagarie is J.R’s cousin. He said, “He’s over at Biloxi High now which is where his dad went to school. He does martial arts. He is pretty involved in judo. He’s trying to maintain weight for some of the competitions he’s got coming up. He goes out in the morning and puts on his jogging suit and goes out and runs, comes back and showers and goes to school.” The Biloxi High student was last seen on a surveillance camera traveling on Tucker Road and McClellan Road between 6 and 6:45 a.m., but was found safe around 7 this afternoon.
