MHSAA suspends all competition through March 29th and until further notice

In an effort to be better safe than sorry, the Mississippi High School Activities Association is joining the movement to pull the plug on all competition due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This morning, the MHSAA officially suspended all sporting events through March 29th and until further notice.

This suspension applies to all schools in every classification regardless of whether or not a school is open during this timeline.

Contingency plans for continuing regular season competition and return to play are being formulated and will be announced and implemented by the MHSAA at the appropriate times.

In a release, Executive Director Don Hinton says, “MHSAA leadership is working diligently to adjust to this rapidly evolving situation and will share updates as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work through this unfortunate situation together.”
