MGM Lion Statue goes up at MGM Park

The crowds won’t be the only ones roaring at MGM Park anymore. Earlier this afternoon, a statue of the MGM lion was placed at the Shuckers’ stadium entrance facing Highway 90.
Standing 7 and half feet tall and weighing 400 pounds, this custom made artwork took over six months to create in Las Vegas. Biloxi officials say this international symbol brings this tight-knit community together at one of the most popular family spots on the Coast.
Construction project manager Jeff Abel said, “It’s a great focal point for people to come and take photographs and memories of the area as they come and enjoy a game and it’ll be a landmark for MGM and a statement for the park.”
Biloxi officials are excited about the new addition to the stadium and hope this brings more economic development.
