MGCCC Veterans Walk

Veterans Day may be tomorrow but Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Jackson County Campus decided to pay tribute to our military today.
Students, veterans and community members alike gathered next to the flag pole in front of the Warner Peter Administration Building for a special commemoration honoring our veterans. A special table was set aside in memory of those we’ve lost. After the honor guard ceremony, participants showed their support to vets in a Veteran Walk around campus, bearing flags representing each branch of the military.
MGCCC Jackson County campus Vice President Dr. Carmen Walters said, “Having this event today was so important to say thank you and that we know the struggle. We understand where you are today and the loved ones that you may have left in action, we wanted them to know that they’re not alone, the entire college supports them.”
The Veterans Day tribute continues tomorrow with a Fallen Soldier 5K Walk at MGCCC’s Perkinston campus and a Veterans Day Ceremony at their Jefferson Davis campus.
