Memorial holds vaccine distribution in Biloxi

Today, Memorial Hospital held their largest vaccine distribution at the Dr. Frank Gruich Sr. Community Center in East Biloxi.

They are vaccinating 1,200 community members, including individuals 50 and older, those with chronic health conditions, school employees, first responders, as well as health care personnel.

This distribution was put on by Memorial to help higher at-risk communities.

Among those receiving their vaccinations were NAACP Biloxi Branch Chairperson James Crowell and City of Biloxi Councilman Felix Gines. Crowell said, “Protect your family. Not only to protect your family, but protect your community and this world. I never dreamed I would be going through something like this, but if you want to be safe take the shot.”

Gines tells News 25 after he and his family experienced COVID-19, he wants to encourage everyone to get their shots.
