Memorial Health System restructuring workforce
Memorial Health System is laying off dozens of employees.
According to a press release, Memorial says it faced challenges brought on by the pandemic. To mitigate the challenges, Memorial says it is “realigning our workforce” by restructuring less than two percent or fewer than 90 employees.
The health system says most of the affected positions are non-clinical and management roles and do not involve patient care directly.
Kent Nicaud, the CEO of Memorial Health System, says, “These difficult steps will help ensure the long-term sustainability of our health system so we can continue to offer the same services to our community. We are committed to providing high-quality care close to home.”
