Meeting to Discuss Bonnet Carre Spillway Effects Will Be Held Thursday Night

The opening of the Bonnet Carre Spillway and its effects here on our Gulf Coast will be the focus of a meeting set for Thursday night.

The meeting will be held at the D’Iberville Town Green from 5:30 to 7:30 pm tonight.

Residents, business owners, and the general public are invited to come out to discuss the spillway’s effects and share their concerns.

Meanwhile, another spillway, the Morganza Spillway, is set to open this Sunday.

Flooding from the Morganza Spillway is expected for nearly 25,000 acres in croplands in and around the Morgan City, Louisiana area.
