Meet and Greet with Hurricane Hunters

While most of us along the Coast are used to evacuating during severe storms, Hurricane Hunters are used to flying through them.
News 25’s Kendra Turley has more.
Bob Bozeman proudly calls the Gulf Coast home, and having survived Hurricane Katrina ten years ago, he doesn’t take hurricane season lightly. “I think it’s very important to know when to leave and where to go.”
While he knows to get out of the storm, today he met a group of people who run toward them, the Hurricane Hunters, specially trained pilots out of Keesler who fly through hurricanes and collect data.
The hunters are hoping that people walk away from the lecture series with a better understanding and appreciation for what they do, in keeping the public informed during often unpredictable storms.
The meet and greet will take place the first Friday of every month until November.
