‘Meal for Heroes’ provides meals for local healthcare workers
Healthcare workers are on the front lines of this pandemic, fighting everyday to save lives from COVID-19.
To say thanks, a local organization has made it their mission to feed meals to local healthcare workers. “Meals for Heroes” is a local organization that is working to feed all of our local healthcare heroes who are fighting COVID-19.
“Meals for Heroes” has teamed up with Savory Roots in Pass Christian to make and deliver meals to local health organizations. Yesterday the group was able to drop off meals at Merit Health in Biloxi.
“Meals for Heroes” Founder Nate Williams says it is important to give back to the people who are protecting us every day. “They are sacrificing not only themselves and their time, but many of them are quarantining themselves from their own families so they don’t bring COVID-19 unknowingly home to them. So, it is a huge sacrifice. We want to give back to them in a small way where they don’t have to worry about where they will get their next meal and keep their money and they can have peace of mind. That is why it is important to us.”
