With all eyes on Harvey, the Mississippi Department of Transportation wants to make sure that people along the Coast know what to do in case of an emergency.
Representatives from the Mississippi Department of Transportation stopped by the Shuckers game Sunday night. They spent their time making sure everyone had a hurricane preparedness handbook in their hands.
MDOT told News 25 that they now are making these handbooks in Spanish and Vietnamese so that all populations can be prepared in the event of a storm. MDOT Social Media Strategist Paul Katool said, “We are giving out important hurricane prep information to fans. You know, Harvey did not hit Mississippi and isn’t expected to affect Mississippi, but the next hurricane might. It is really important to prepare your home, plan a kit, plan an evacuation route. You can go to and get all your hurricane prep information.”
Make sure to stop by their website for more information and a checklist so that everyone can stay safe when a storm hits.
