McDermott International Moves into the Port of Gulfport

The Port of Gulfport officially has a new tenant moving in. McDermott International dropped anchor this week to become the newest business at the port.
The engineering and construction company will base their pipeline finishing operations on the east pier. The company will bring 100 full time jobs to the Gulf Coast.
Jonathan Daniels, Port of Gulfport executive director, said, “ So, not only are we going to see about 100 production jobs, but we’ll also see some between 50 and 75 longshoreman jobs. So, it’s a significant job generator. The payroll, the lowest paying position on the portside at the point with the production will be about $60,000 a year. So they are well playing jobs with full benefits.”
