MBI investigating officer-involved shooting in Harrison County

Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is on the scene of a fatal officer-involved shooting in Harrison County.

The crime scene is in the area of Lorraine Road and Shriners Boulevard.

Law enforcement has confirmed that a county patrolman working for the Board of Supervisors was involved in a shooting. The officer was not injured.

A source with the county said a female patrol officer was attacked and feared for her life, forcing to to shoot a male adult. The subject did die.

MBI is investigating the shooting.

This is the 14th officer-involved shooting in the state for 2023.
