Mayoral Monday with Ocean Springs Mayor Shea Dobson

After the night parade took place last Friday, it is back to business for Ocean Springs Mayor Shea Dobson.

He stopped by our station this morning to discuss what is on the horizon for the city. Mayor Dobson talked about the CSX crossing work starting today. After leaving our station, the mayor had a meeting to discuss new parking improvements for the city’s hospital. Last, but not least, Mayor Dobson told News 25 about redevelopment plans in the work.

This is a pre-requisite for the city’s tax increment financing program in which the plan looks at the entire city and focuses on areas that could use more development. Mayor Dobson said, “Economic development is something big that I’ve been working on. I’m constantly on the phone trying to find ways to make our city more attractive to developers and really just grow our tax base. So, this is going to go a long way in doing that.”

This is all part of Mayor Dobson’s ‘Keep Ocean Springs Beautiful’ plan.
