Margaritaville celebrates five years on the Coast

June 23rd marks five years Margaritaville has been a part of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community and the occasion calls for a celebration in true Jimmy Buffett style.

Wednesday, games will be half-off all day, the first 100 guests of legal drinking age will receive free margaritas, and a fireworks show will begin at 9:15 p.m.

In 2016, on the site of the former Casino Magic Biloxi, the family-oriented resort opened its doors to guests. Since then, Margaritaville has faced many obstacles alongside the Gulf Coast community.

Chief Marketing Officer Tessy Lambert says that makes this anniversary worth celebrating. “We love the Coast. And after being through all that everybody else has of course been through as far as the algae bloom and hurricanes and pandemics and all of that roller coaster of emotion, we just think it’s important to really celebrate this milestone. Five years in business, that’s an achievement and we want to celebrate with our community and our team members and just really make it a special day.”

As for the next five years at Margaritaville, the resort is focusing on phase two of its expansion which includes an outdoor amusement park and parking garage.
