Mardi Gras Mambo event for seniors

Tomorrow, seniors from across the Coast are invited to the Mardi Gras Mambo event at the Lyman Community Center in Gulfport.

This is the fourth year for the Mardi Gras Mambo and it is a collaboration between the Boyington Health and Rehabilitation Center and the City of Gulfport.

The fun Mardi Gras party will have a free meal, live music, vendors, door prizes, and dishes prepared by local businesses.

Brittaney Dyess, special event manager for the City of Gulfport leisure services department, tells News 25 they expect around 500 seniors to attend. “We have 31 vendors this year that will be on site providing free information resources that seniors can access in the community. It’s a very nice event and some seniors dress up like they have great outfits that they come in. It’s a very well received event.”

The Mardi Gras Mambo is free of charge and will start at 10 a.m. and end at 1.
