Man wanted in connection to drive-by shooting Tuesday evening arrested by Gulfport Police
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) — The man police believe to be responsible for a drive-by shooting in Gulfport on Tuesday is now behind bars.
Officers with the Gulfport Police Department arrested 19-year-old Jason Latrell McBeath early Wednesday morning.
Jail records show McBeath was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center just after 5 a.m.
Police say the drive-by shooting took place in the area of Klein Road and New Haven Court at around 5 p.m. Tuesday.
According to authorities, McBeath fired a gun multiple times, striking a home and a vehicle. No injuries were reported.
McBeath has been charged with one count of shooting into a dwelling and one count of shooting at a motor vehicle. His bond has been set at $250,000 for each charge.
The Gulfport Police Department tweeted after the arrest, “We would like to thank the community for your assistance in locating McBeath.”
McBeath now awaits his initial appearance in court.
