Man shot in the face in Hancock County

A man is recovering after a shooting in the Bay Side neighborhood of Bay St. Louis over the weekend.
The incident happened just west of Highway 90. According to neighbors, a man was walking down Sunflower Street between West Greene and George Street when witnesses say a car full of people drove by, yelled out the victim’s name and shot him in the face.
One witness told News 25 the victim spit out the bullet and was conscious after the shooting. He also says the victim was able to walk himself to the ambulance. Witness Johnathan Neighbor said, “Me and my wife were inside and we heard a gunshot go off and we didn’t pay no mind to it because you hear a lot of that around here. I knew the guy he cuts a lot of grass around here. He cuts grass and helps everybody out. He said they were in the silver car with a bunch of young guys they knew and they went to the front of Bay Side to go out.”
Authorities in Hancock County say the investigation is still underway.
