Man facing seven charges following vehicle pursuit in Harrison County

A New Orleans man has been arrested following that high-speed chase yesterday in Harrison County.

According to Sheriff Troy Peterson, 29-year-old Charles Travis has been arrested on seven felony charges.

Travis allegedly robbed a customer of their keys inside a Dollar General on Highway 67 in Biloxi which was unsuccessful and fled on foot to a subdivision behind the store and walked into a residence on Willow Oak which was unlocked.

Travis then obtained the keys from inside the house and allegedly stole the vehicle from the driveway.

That’s when law enforcement located Travis and a pursuit ensued on I-10 in Biloxi. The pursuit ended when Travis entered the Home Depot parking lot and rammed into a Harrison County patrol car.

He then resisted and fought with deputies and was taken into custody.

He’s being charged with receiving stolen property, robbery, attempted motor vehicle taking, motor vehicle taking, failure to stop, burglary, and aggravated assault on law enforcement officer.
