Man evading police in Diamondhead dies in crash

A man is dead after trying to evade police last night in Hancock County.
Police say they received complaints about a man driving erratically around Diamondhead and might have been under the influence. Two units from Hancock County caught up to the vehicle, but the man failed to stop.
Authorities say the 62-year-old was making a turn on Noma Drive near City Hall when he crashed his small SUV straight into a tree and died at the scene.
The man’s identity is not released at this time pending family notification.
