Man captured after hours-long manhunt in Pearl River County

A man who ran from Pearl River County Sheriff’s deputies Tuesday was caught later that afternoon after an hours-long manhunt.

Semaj Hall had arrived at the Pearl River County Jail to turn himself in on an indictment. Investigators say when he found out he would not have a bond; he ran from the facility on foot.

Deputies established a perimeter in the nearby woods and highway. Hall was eventually taken into custody after a three-hour search.

Mississippi Highway Patrol K Troop, MDOC, Picayune Police Department, CTED, PRCEOC, Poplarville Police Department and US Marshals assisted the sheriff’s department in this incident.
