Man Arrested After Fleeing Traffic Stop

A man is in custody after fleeing a traffic stop in Harrison County this morning. Authorities caught the man just minutes after he fled on foot in the Whitney Drive area.

 
K-9 unit leaving the scene at Whitney and Angela Drive in Gulfport after a routine traffic stop turned into a foot pursuit. Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputies tell News 25 a black male weighing about 300 pounds ran out of his Gold Expedition around 11:15am after being stopped by police. He is a convicted felon and had a 9mm gun and drugs in his car. The man has been arrested, and we will continue to update you as information is released.
