Man Arrested After Police Chase

What started out as just a traffic stop in Biloxi ended with a police chase and an assault.
Biloxi police pulled over Adam Devoy Harper for following a vehicle too closely on I-10 near mile marker 44. When the officer found controlled substances in the vehicle, Harper assaulted the officer and fled the scene, traveling south on D’iberville Boulevard.
Harper collided with another vehicle near Popps Ferry Road during his attempt to escape. He surrendered after reaching a dead-end road. Sgt. Jackie Rhodes said, “Mr. Harper has a total bond of $300,000 and that’s for felony eluding, assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of a controlled substance with intent. The controlled substance was cocaine, marijuana, spice and methamphetamine.”
Harper is now at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
