Man accused of setting girlfriend on fire captured in Arkansas

Arkansas state troopers were called to the 2000 block of Highway 49 in Blackton, Arkansas about 1:15 p.m. today. The troopers found the 2014 Nissan Rogue burning that Jerry Glenn Willis, 43, is accused of taking from his live-in girlfriend. Willis was taken into custody approximately 2:00 p.m. without incident and is being held in the Monroe County, Arkansas Jail awaiting extradition to Mississippi.
Willis faces charges of attempted murder, felony taking of a motor vehicle and kidnapping. A nationwide manhunt was touched off Wednesday after Willis’ girlfriend was found burned alive on Highway 11 in Pearl River County.
The preliminary investigation indicates 46-year-old Stacy Mitchell Frank had been doused with gasoline, set afire and left beside the road. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is now undergoing treatment at a Jackson hospital.
