Male Body Found in Biloxi Water
A DMR team recovered the body of a male victim in the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor this morning.
Shrimp boaters called the DMR around 4:45 after they saw a man walk into the water, splash and never resurface. Members of the dive team as well as a Coast Guard helicopter searched for the missing person for hours.
A body was later recovered around 7:30 in about six feet of water. A backpack was also found on the scene which officials believe belonged to the male victim. DMR Chief Keith Davis said, “As far as cause of death or anything like that, that will come from the coroner’s office, but all indications are right now that he died of a drowning and everything else as far as the investigation is ongoing.”
The name of the victim will not be released until the family is notified.
