Make-A-Wish grants Disney trip

One Gulfport teen is getting the trip of a lifetime to Disney thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Twelve-year-old Leighton Creel has been battling cancer for over a year now. Leighton’s family, friends, and Make-A-Wish volunteers came together for his Wish send-off party at First Baptist Church in Gulfport.

The family got a few going away gifts and went through their itinerary. This trip for the Creel family will last a whole week.

Leighton says he is thankful for all the support he has received during this trying time for his family. “It means everything because they’re like a secondary family to us. They helped us when we were going through the chemo and everything. They would travel all the way to Jackson just to come support me in the hospital bed.”

Leighton’s face lit up with joy when he learned all about the details of his trip. He also got surprised when the Make-A-Wish volunteer told him that not only would he be doing to Disney, but also SeaWorld and Universal Studios.
