Major League Baseball cancels Opening Day
Sad day for Major League Baseball, officially canceling Opening Day and the first two series to start the season.
The MLB and its players union unable to come to an agreement on a new CBA before today’s league-imposed deadline.
Some of the major sticking points for both sides, luxury tax thresholds, pre-arbitration bonus pool money, and league minimum salaries.
According to reports, the owners also asking for a pitch clock, ban on the shift, and larger bases.
Minor League Baseball remains unaffected with Opening Day still scheduled for April 8th.
