Lumberton Police Identify Man Claiming to be Police Officer

Lumberton police have identified a man who claimed to be a police officer in a case that started out as road rage and turned violent with a shot being fired and a confrontation at a gas station last month.
The man can be seen on surveillance tape in a parking lot of a store and has been identified as Michael Walker, a resource officer with the Jones County Junior College. Walker was involved in a road rage incident where he fired shots and assaulted a juvenile that cut him off. According to police, he approached the 17-year-old’s car, yelling and slapping him. The teen questioned the officer about who he was. Witnesses at the scene said he only identified himself as “Officer Bad.”
He has yet to be arrested or taken into custody.
