Lucedale man sentenced in 2024 murder case in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- A Lucedale man has been convicted in a deadly 2024 shooting outside a Jackson County bar.

Twenty-three-year-old Charles Mason IV was found guilty by a Jackson County jury of first-degree murder and four counts of aggravated assault.

Prosecutors say Mason opened fire outside the County Line Bar in March 2024, killing Richard Allen Davis and injuring others.

The jury reached its verdict after about an hour of deliberation.

As a result, Mason was sentenced to life in prison for the murder charge, plus 20 years for each of the assault counts.
