Lowe’s gives away relief buckets after Tropical Storm Cristobal

In an effort to help the community in the wake of Tropical Storm Cristobal, Lowe’s held three relief events today across the Coast.

The events, which are called ‘Bucket Brigades,’ were held at the Waveland, D’Iberville, and Gulfport Lowe’s stores this morning from 10 a.m. until noon or until supplies lasted.

Lowe’s provided 500 buckets full of vendor-donated cleaning supplies at each location including gloves, sponges, bottled water, and Clorox.

In D’Iberville, all the buckets were given away in just under two hours. Lowe’s employee Juan Hernandez said, “We started at approximately at ten o’clock a.m. We had about fifty people that were waiting in line, even in the rain. It was pouring down rain. And we’re here to help. It’s what we wanted to do is get it out to them and they obviously needed it. It was just, it was very nice to be here to help them get that taken care of. Whatever the community needs, we want them to know that we’re here to help. And we’re here to help them with everything they need to recover afterwards.”
