“Our Love Affair with Baseball” Luncheon
The general manager of the Mississippi Braves says he could never pitch as good as the pros but his passion for baseball is the reason he’s still in the game.
Director and General Manager of the Mississippi Braves Steve DeSalvo hit Biloxi today to speak at the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art.
DeSalvo spoke to the “Our Love Affair with Baseball” luncheon crowd about his past leading up to his career in the Atlanta Braves organization.
Growing up playing baseball, DeSalvo tells News 25 he says he didn’t think he had it in him to go pro, but he always had a burning desire for the game. “I didn’t know how I was going to get involved if I couldn’t be a player. Then I found this sports management program and I guess they would say the rest is history. I have just always loved the game and always wanted to be involved with it and have done it my entire life and just can’t see me doing anything else.”
WXXV is a proud sponsor of the “Our Love Affair with Baseball” luncheon, happening every Friday at the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art.
Next week, head baseball coach at Southern Miss Scott Berry will be the guest speaker.
