Louisiana Woman Arrested for Stealing from Gulfport Church

A 44 year old Louisiana woman is in jail, accused of stealing from a Gulfport church.

Annie Denise Dillard of Ponchatoula, Louisiana was arrested Friday night after police responded to an alarm at Word of Faith Christian Center in Gulfport. Responding to the call around 9:23 p.m., investigators say officers saw a broken window and female walking inside. She was arrested on a charge of burglary. Dillard was taken to the Harrison County Jail, where she is being held on $25,000 bond.

Sgt. Damon McDaniel, Public Information Officer for the Gulfport Police Department, says, “Well, you know with any crime, you never know why someone would do something like that. You would think that no one would want to burglarize a church, being that a church building is to be held sacred, so it is unknown at this time as to why she would do something like that."
