Louisiana Police Involved in Shooting Death of Six-Year-Old Bonded out of Jail
One of the Louisiana police officers involved in the shooting death of a six-year-old from Hattiesburg and the attempted murder of his father is now out of jail.
Derrick Stafford bonded out of jail today. Stafford has already been transferred from the DC-3 facility in Rapides Parish to Avoyelles Parish. In order to reach the $1 million bond, family and friends of Stafford’s had to put up more than 20 properties for collateral.
The other officer in the case, Norris Greenhouse Jr., is out of jail on bond.
Both deputies pleaded not guilty to second degree murder and attempted second degree murder charges.
Stafford’s trial has been set for September 26th. Greenhouse Jr.’s has been set for November 28th.
