Looking for a few good actors
A South Mississippi author and film crew are shining the light on the issue of domestic violence and are looking for some talented South Mississippians to help them tell the story.
A casting call is set for next weekend for the movie “A Thin Line between Love and Obsession.” The film is based on a novel by local author and playwright Erica Burke, who writes the story of a woman struggling with abuse and domestic violence in her life, as well as her faith and sense of self-worth.
Filmmaker Ronnie Blakeney will be directing the film. He and Burke will be on hand as hopefuls audition for principle and supporting roles in the movie. Director Ronnie Blakeney said, “This is an opportunity I guess for people that may be their first time out and want to try something like this, we welcome them. Then even the more seasoned people that have been parts of full featured movies before, we always welcome them.”
Author Erica Burke said, “So, I just want to reach others through a ‘Thin Line between Love and Obsession’ where they can see that, you’re worth more, you don’t have to settle for what you’re in.”
Casting calls for the movie are scheduled for next weekend: June 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at the Hampton Inn off Highway 63 in Moss Point. Filmmakers will be casting for two female lead and two male lead roles as well as supporting actors and background extras. The public is invited to attend.
