Long Beach Woman accused of Desecration of a Corpse

A Long Beach woman waived her preliminary hearing in today’s case where she is accused of putting the remains of her boyfriend in a trash can.
Harrison County Judge Albert Fountain says 63-year-old Christy Zarrella is being accused of cutting a pacemaker out of the dead body of 87-year-old Edward Miller. Zarrella claims Miller was dead before she removed the pacemaker. Prosecutor Herman Cox tells News 25 that the medical examiner could not make that determination.
Zarrella is being charged with multiple felonies, including tampering with physical evidence and desecration of a corpse.
